InDesign Connector and InCopy:

Improvements
General:
- No additional language versions are being created while publishing items.

- Modification client language for e-mail notifications
- The language in which e-mail messages are sent when uploading/converting images and publishing is changed from the current UI language to user profile languages – if user has Client or Content language set. Otherwise the Sitecore default language is used.
- Mail subjects localizations for "convert" and "convert and download" are moved from core messages to message settings in master (/sitecore/Print Studio/App Settings/Message Settings).
- Standard values for Media Processing Job and Print Processing Job templates have been added to avoid empty mail subjects when upgrading from previous version.
File Storage:
InDesign Connector and InCopy Connector cache
- The default InDesign Projects folder in config.ini is C:\APSPublishing\InDesignProjects
- The InDesign local cache folder path has been slightly changed to generate unique path per Sitecore instance: InDesign Projects folder\website name\username\language index\the id of the published item

Publishing:
Content Merge fixes
- Added support of QR code
The default scenario for QR codes is to assign field of type QR Code Image to an Image (P_ImageFrame/P_Image) and generate the image from the field value of the referenced item.
When generating QR code inside a content merge, we work directly with the content item. Therefore it needs to have Width and Height fields that are necessary for sizing the QR image.
- Added support for Print text fields.
- Missing field in content item – when the content merge has field variable from a different template than the content item, the rendering for the variable is skipped for the field but it doesn’t break the rendering process.
- Rich text - in rich text breaks rendering the rich text in content merge.
Adding to the default transformation set fixes the issue.
Upgrading from previous versions needs to be done manually.
Default transformation set item is:
/sitecore/Print Studio/Modules/InDesign connector/Transformations/TransformationSet Add "| " to Characters, Add "| " to Codes.
Scripts:
- Content Item passed to scripts is no longer the rendering item, but the assigned data item.
Fixes
InDesign Connector
- When assigning image from Media library to image frame, set the display name of the target image frame to the image display name.
- When assigning template field to text frame, set the display name of the target text frame to the template field display name.
- Update QR code and Images cache after publishing.
- Remove special characters ("|", ";", "*") from Display names.
- Files download through Media and Print cache handlers.
- Upload files directly to Sitecore items (Uploads folder not needed anymore).
- Modifying cookie in response header for IDC service.
- Show default value of Image field (Right-click on an Image field in templates panel).
InCopy Connector
- If page is checked out from the current user, after republishing it will be unlocked (scenario – publish page, edit it, save, publish again – bug that the page becomes locked again)
- Items locking after publishing - if page items are not checked out from anyone, they will be locked and faded. Items that are checked out by current user will be unlocked and not faded.
2. Known Issues
The list of known issues in the Adaptive Print Studio module:
- InDesign Connector for MAC: The output result files (pdf, swf) are not placed in the default cache folder (InDesignProjects) when either ExportSWE or ExportPDF settings for P_Book item are set “True” in the Sitecore CMS. For InDesignConnector CS6 the output result files path is: /Applications/Adobe InDesign CS6/Adobe InDesign CS6.app/Contents/MacOS. For InDesignConnector CS5.5 the output result files path is: /Applications/Adobe InDesign CS5.5/Adobe InDesign CS5.5.app/Contents/MacOS.
- InDesign/InCopy Connector: In some cases a warning is displayed in the InDesign desktop/InCopy desktop when a horizontal and/or vertical line is published. Just ignore the warning when it appears; the line is published correctly.
- Print Studio Center: In some scenarios the z-index of the “Default” layer is not displayed correctly in the Print Studio Editor. Recommended workaround: ensure all objects are on the correct layers.
- Print Studio Center: not displayed correctly on client computers that use a resolution of less than 1152x864px. The recommended width is 1152px minimum. On screens with a resolution of less the scroll bar and command buttons are shown in two rows.
- Print Studio Center: using a complex structure in combination with a very large amount of items, can degrade performance. This can be solved by performing a database, indexes and links clean-up in Sitecore.
- Print Studio Center: in some cases the conversion of an EPS file does not generate a preview image. This is caused by the thumbnail image data in the EPS file.
- InDesign Server CS5.5 (JP/EN) – Active X error for Japanese OS 2008 server version (32/64bit). InDesign Server CS5.5 Japanese or English version does not publish and shows error in event log. Work around is use English operating system for running InDesign Server CS5.5.
